Ray Cappello – “When I first came to In Shape I weighed around 220 pounds.
I made a commitment to myself to get in shape and knew that joining the gym
and going on a diet were going to be a major factor in order to achieve that.
After talking to Todd Degree, Personal Trainer, I learned that starving myself
was the worst way to lose weight. He taught me the difference between losing
weight and losing fat, as well as dispelling many myths about fad diets and
various workouts. Once I started on the In Shape Nutritional Program and began
personal training, I started to see the changes I desired while still eating the
foods I love. My body fat percentage went down, and I’m seeing more definition.
My fitness goals have changed since I joined In Shape, and thanks to Todd I have
the knowledge to continue reaching my goals.”

to make a change so I could once again become the happy and upbeat person I have

Murray Ruggiero, Jr. – “I joined In Shape in Branford in 1997 when I weighed
238 pounds and my cholesterol was 290 – only 34 years old. My doctor told me
I was a candidate for a heart attack within five years if I did not make some
changes. In addition, I had two bad knees – as a child I spent 2 years in a
wheelchair. At first I did not see much progress and I found more and more
excuses to not come to the gym. However, when I turned 35 I had trouble
walking up the stairs without my knees giving out. I realized I really needed
to make changes and I made an appointment with Tracy Modica. This changed
my life as well as my body. She worked with me and supported me she actually
helped me train for a 5K road race. I entered and despite my slow time, I did
